Scott Guthrie Hints At Silverlight On iPhone
After looking at Silverlight 2, it seemed to me that Apple might be considering Silverlight for the iPhone. And just now, Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie, live on stage at Mix 08 in Las Vegas dropped a hint that suggested Microsoft may have already done the deal. He said something like - Expect to see Microsoft putting Sliverlight on as many mobile devices as possible, not just Windows Mobile devices…. *pause*… anything with an SDK.
There’s no doubt that Scott would have known what he was saying by using the word “SDK “in the context of mobile devices the day before the much-anticipated launch of the iPhone SDK. People in the audience at Mix got the hint too, judging by the laughter. The question is - was Scott just having a little fun, or will there be a surprise announcement tomorrow at the Apple event?
