Zooomr - This Page was Not Found. Have They Blown It This Time?

Have you heard of Zooomr? Maybe, maybe not. The small company wants to compete with Flickr to serve all your photo sharing needs. If you haven’t followed the Zooomr story, while trying to launch a new version of their site recently (so-called “Zooomr Mark III”) , the company’s site was down for two weeks. Their community rallied round, and they got the new version of their software launched on some shiny new hardware, in a shiny new data center with people watching their every move on web cam. And then…

All people saw was:

500 - Internal Server Error

So, they had a go at fixing it. This morning, I just went over the the site to check out the quality of photos their users are taking. I went to the home page, and then clicked on the big yellow “Discover” link. All I saw was:

This Page was Not Found

Clearly, they’re still have a few problems with the availability of their systems (update: it’s working again now). At this point, one has wonder if they’ve really blown it. How long it will be before their users just don’t care anymore? Is the final nail in the coffin as far as any hopes of VC funding go? They might not have quite blown it yet, but unless they fix these issues, they might not have long left. The pressure’s on these guys - I hope it works out well for them. Stay tuned…
