Dell To Sell Ubuntu Linux Laptops & Desktops
It’s taken a long time, but Linux is finally to be offered on laptops and desktops targetted at consumers by Dell (see the CNET story). Dell has chosen the popular and consumer-friendly desktop Linux distro, Ubuntu. It will be interesting to see the uptake.
Please note - consumers buying Ubuntu Linux laptops and desktops won’t be able to run Silverlight Rich Internet Applications. Of course, those people will be able to run Ajax, Flash and Java applications just fine…
