Does Microsoft Have A Replacement For Scoble?
I’ve been e-mailing with a colleague today, discussing various aspects of Microsoft and Google. Now, I don’t really follow Microsoft and Google all that closely - Microsoft, especially, does so much that it’s difficult for the casual observer to keep up.
However, during the discussions, I realised I actually knew quite a lot about Microsoft’s various offerings. And that knowledge is pretty much down to one person - Robert Scoble. When he was working at Microsoft, his blog was a great single source of MS information - providing an overview of the important stuff (big projects and small) going on at MS. Now he’s moved on to PodTech; and my knowledge of MS is rapidly getting out of date.
Now, I know that there are thousands of bloggers at Microsoft, but I don’t want to read thousands of MS blogs. I just want to read one that tells me what I need to know. I wonder if there’s anyone at MS doing something similar to the work that Robert did?
Maybe this is an opportunity for Steve Ballmer to take a leaf out of Jonthan Schwartz’s book, and become a CEO blogger…
