Down On Sun? Not Me! I’m Talking About Them, Aren’t I?
A few people have e-mailed me to ask if I’m pro Sun Microsystems, or anti Sun Microsystems. I can understand the confusion (some of my posts about Sun are postive about the company and its offerings, and some are more critical).
But if you think about it, my position is pretty easy to understand: I’ve bought a lot of Sun equipment over the years; I’m just about to place a new order for some Galaxy servers; and after almost ten years using it, Java is still my favourite programming language.
In other words, on the whole, I’m a supporter of Sun as a company and what they’re doing. That’s why I blog about them. How often do you see me blog about IBM or HP? I think that speaks volumes… I’m not anti-IBM or anti-HP. I just don’t take much of an interest in what they do….
