Upgraded To WordPress 2.0
Just upgraded to WordPress 2.0. I’m looking forward forward to is seeing how well the new automated comment spam filter (Akismet) works. The previous algorithm I used - hold comments for moderation with two or more links, or that contain the words “casino” or “poker” - actually work pretty well. That simple algorithm actually stopped >99% (99.4% to be exact) of the comment spam I have received being posted. I’m intrigued to see whether Akismet ups the accuracy to 100%, and whether the user-experience is any different).
I’m not sure if I’m convinced by the new WYSIWYG post editor. I thought the old HTML editor was really good. I’ll give it a go though, to see how well it works. [Update: I already don't like it - it sometimes appears to change formatting in an unpredictable way - something to do with how it inserts paragraph tags in response to hitting the return key, I think. So, I've now switched the WYSIWYG editor off - back to the old HTML editor. ]
